Today we took out the bowls from the forms and remade the top big bowl.
CDE this year has been a great experience for me. I learned a lot of new skills and got my hands on a lot of new tools. I was able to greatly improve my skills with CAD programs and other digital tools that I had used in the past. I am also confident in my use of all the tools in the workshop.
I prefer to use CAD and other online tools when building however, i still needed to be skilled in the workshop. I think that throughout the year i improved greatly with all the machines and tools. It’s a lot easier for me to turn on a machine and cut up some wood than it was at the end of CDE 1.
Working along with Madison for the majority of the year has also helped me Teamwork, I got better splitting work with a partner and working together with her, learning wherever i could as well as teaching her a couple of things where i can. I was able to teach her some code basics during the Micro bit project, and she was able to help me with sewing at the same time.
CDE this year has been a great way for me to come out to the mill and get my hands dirty and build what I want to build, how I want to build it. Machines like the 3D printer, laser cutter, and the silhouette machine are all cool items I was able to build my skills with and quickly build some things for friends and family during 20-time. Overall, i think i did really good this year on working with different Machines and Tools to help me grow as a engineer.
